Custom business software

Business software built around your operations.

When spreadsheets, email and disconnected tools can no longer support the work, build an application around the people using it. Ars Codex develops operational software and product capabilities for businesses and their partners.

Discuss your project

Typical projects

An order-review workspace, a supplier or customer portal, an internal operations dashboard, an approval process or a service that keeps systems in sync. The starting point is the work that needs to happen and the record each system should own.

We assess whether configuring an existing product would be sufficient before proposing custom development. A smaller integration can sometimes remove the need for another application.

What we define before building

  • Users, permissions and the decisions each screen supports.
  • Workflow states, exceptions and responsibility for each action.
  • Sources of truth for customers, products, orders and other business records.
  • API or file interfaces, data quality and existing system constraints.
  • Acceptance cases, rollout steps and maintenance ownership.

Delivery and integration

Start with a useful slice of the workflow and test it with the people doing the work. Build the backend and interface together, validate permissions and failure states, and plan how existing work moves into the new system.

We can connect the application through ERP and API integrations, add document intake and review, or scope an AI capability where its behavior can be evaluated.

What you receive

The agreed application, integration configuration, deployment and handover documentation. The scope identifies hosting accounts, credentials, operational responsibilities and any optional support arrangement. Existing specifications can be used after a technical review.

Custom builds are quoted to scope. Ongoing engineering capacity is available when priorities evolve over successive releases. Discuss your current process, users, systems and deadline to define the first deliverable.
